Tom is a branding professional and has spent the last 30 years working for clients throughout the world. For much of this time he was with Interbrand, latterly as Deputy Group Chairman, and was involved in business development and promotion, helping Interbrand to grow and become the biggest global branding consultancy, with over 30 offices in 25 countries.
In his consulting work, Tom advises a wide range of domestic and international clients on the creation, development and management of brands. He has spoken at major international conferences and has written and commented extensively on brands and branding and continues to do so.
Tom contributed a chapter on ‘co-branding’ to a new book on branding – ‘The Definitive Book of Branding’ – to be published by Sage later this year. He is the author of ‘Trademarks’ (1998), and co-edited ‘Co-Branding’ (2000) and ‘Brand Medicine – the Role of Brands in the Pharmaceutical Industry’ (2001)
Previously, Tom was the Director of Research in the marketing services division for Inbucon Management Consultants, a diversified business consultancy offering advice and services to private and public service clients.
Tom also acts as an expert witness and has appeared at the High Court in several leading cases involving trademark infringement and passing off.
